A number of civilians were hurt while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to restore power.
